New PowerSchool Accounts

Alert: If you used PowerSchool Parent Access in previous years, you will need to create a personal account this year!

New This Year! PowerSchool Parent Portal with Single Sign-On

In previous versions of the PowerSchool Parent Portal there was a separate username and password for each student requiring a parent to login multiple times if they had more than one student attending any LISD campus. This year we  have introduced the Parent Single Sign-On feature.

Single Sign-On offers a number of benefits, including:
  • access to multiple students with one login
  • a personalized account for each parent and guardian
  • the ability for parents/guardians to retrieve their own login information

As always, you will still be able to securely view your child's up to the minute student attendance, grades, detailed assignment descriptions, school bulletins, and even personal messages from the teacher.

Parents:

Start by clicking on the LISD PowerSchool icon, then click on "Create an Account" the first time you login for the 2012-2013 school year.

(Please do not just type in the access ID and Access Password on the main screen as it will not work). The portal will ask you to put in your name, email, and your password (you will be able to make up your own user name and password for ease of use as well). Next, complete the "Link Students to your account" section. Add your child(ren)'s access ID and Access Password data.  There is a limit of 7 children per login.

You received the Access ID and Password letter during registration.  If you need a duplicate copy of the letter, please contact your students campus office.

Continue adding other children from your family if needed. When completed, press the "Enter" button on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Notes: Your Username and Password is unique to your child, please keep these logins confidential so that only you and your child(ren) can access their information. This portal is a great way to discuss school and the classes that your child is taking this year.

Grades are posted to the Parent Portal by the teachers. The teacher's grade book is a "snapshot" and does not always accurately reflect the student's overall progress or performance. Grades can have different values in weighting and will vary by particular courses. Please remember that all assignments will be put up as soon as possible by all teachers but some projects will take longer to assess and post depending on their size. If you have questions regarding an assignment, you can always email the teacher.

Remember to visit the icon called Email Notifications and set up any reports you would like to receive from the parent portal. You do not have to use this, but it's a great way to have information sent to you on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis.

Please email powerschool@lorenaisd.net if you have any questions or concerns regarding the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
