Lorena ISD has been awarded the 2012 Gold Leadership Circle Award for financial transparency by the Texas Comptroller. This is the second year in a row LISD has earned this high recognition.
Financial Transparency in public school spending allows taxpayers to see exactly where their money is being spent. The Texas Comptroller program spotlights schools that are:
- opening their books to the public
- providing clear, consistent pictures of spending
- sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.
